Following on from the Pop Art movement, Danish designers, notably Verner Panton (1926-98), became popular during the late ‘60s using bold beautiful colours with imaginary vision, as evident in this twist/swirl designed rug.

Panton was not restricted or confined in his design approach and with this freedom he managed to explore areas other designers could not. In his own words…I try to show new ways, to encourage people to use their fantasy imagination and make their surroundings more exciting.
