Barbro Nilsson, a student of Marta Maas-Fjetterstrom, continued in the tradition of the Swedish folk art of carpet weaving, though used simpler designs of flat colour, which create a calmer mood and with the reliefflossa (raised pile) technique gives her carpets an architectural edge.
Of note is that the carpet is in good, clean and original condition, retaining platted fringes and is considered one of the early classics of Swedish carpets.
